Why the strap matters more than people think
Where a crossbody sits changes how it behaves. Worn high, tight across the chest, it stays in front of you and out of reach in a crowd — the right setting for a market, a metro or an airport. Worn long, at the hip, it swings free and stops digging into your shoulder on a long day. A fixed-length strap gives you one of those two and takes the other away.
Height matters too. A strap set for someone 1.5 m tall sits in completely the wrong place on someone 1.8 m tall. Most straps in this collection adjust across roughly 100–130 cm, which covers almost everyone.
Detachable as well as adjustable
Many of these bags have a strap that comes off entirely, which turns a crossbody into a clutch or a top-handle bag for the evening. Where that's the case it's stated on the product page under Closure and Strap.
The hardware is the part that fails first
On a cheap bag the strap is fine and the slider that holds it isn't — it creeps loose under load until the bag is hanging at your knee. Ours use solid metal sliders and lobster clasps, not folded sheet metal. It's an unglamorous detail that decides whether you still like the bag in three years.
